February Update: 9 months, 3 teeth and a total crawler!

NINE MONTHS OLD

At his well-baby check up this month, he measured 30.5 inches (97th percentile) and 20.5 pounds (44th percentile). When Dr. Carr checked his mouth, we noticed a third tooth starting to poke through (top left)!!!! He has met all of his developmental milestons and he is happy as ever. He is a great sleeper (12 hours a night plus two naps) and really loves to eat! I've been making all of his baby food (thank you for the Beaba, Grammie Pat!) and he really loves his fruits and veggies. He is also eating chicken, turkey, yogurt, cottage cheese and tofu. He gets so excited in his high chair, he squeals with delight, kicking out his legs and waving his arms up and down. Mealtime is never boring with Carter around!
SWIM LESSONS WITH DADDY

Dave and I rotate time in the pool with Carter. Carter loves swim lessons, but mostly he loves the other kids!

FUN AT THE PARK
Although it's been chilly, the weather has been pretty clear. This means many trips to Burlingame Park at the end of our street. Carter absolutely LOVES the swing and he giggles and smiles the whole time. He also enjoys banging his hands on the metal slide; it makes a loud sound and the vibrations make him laugh.

A MOVER AND A SHAKER
Carter's been "almost" crawling for over a month. He's been a great roller since December, and learned to do the army tummy creep in January. Just this month he was ablet to put it all together and get moving with a genuine and authentic "crawl". This means babygates and safety gear need to be installed this weeekend!
OMA AND OPA VISIT
Mike and Pam flew to Portland for a visit Feb 12-16th. We celebrated Dave's birthday, Valentine's day and Mike's birthday over the long holiday weekend. We went wine tasting, shared wonderful meals and spent some quality time together.
WE ARE SO BLESSED
Every night that I put Carter to bed, we say prayers of Thanksgiving for all of the blessings in our lives. We are healthy and safe with good food, a lovely home, clean air, great friends and family. This morning I was reminded of our many blessings as I watched the sunrise from our bedroom window. What a way to start the day!
